Avenged Sevenfold atau juga dikenal dengan sebutan A7X ini adalah band dari Huntington Beach California Usa, yang beraliran Metalcore/Hardrock. Band ini didirikan pada tahun 1999 dengan formasi awal yaitu M. Shadow (vocal), Zacky Vengeance (rhythm guitar), The Rev (Drum), dan Matt Wendt (Bass). Kemudian pada tahun 2000 bergabunglah Synyster Gates kedalam band ini untuk mengisi posisi Lead Guitar.
Sejak awal didirikan, band ini telah beberapa kali berganti personil bass mulai dari Matt Wendt, Justin Sane, Dameon Ash dan yang terakhir Jonny Christ yang bertahan sampai sekarang. Pada akhir 2009 band ini berduka atas meninggalnya sang drummer James Owen Sullivan atu yang lebih dikenal The Rev.
